Speakers

Alexandra Torres Pons

Alexandra, an Academic Excellence Scholar at Trinity College (USA), stands out for her passion and achievements. She is studying three majors (Human Rights, Political Science, Philosophy) and a minor (Middle Eastern Studies). She published her first book at the age of 14 and volunteered internationally. She leads youth diplomacy projects, specializes in combating Human Trafficking with the NGO A21 and co-founded an NGO to support Education with SEK International. She is certified in Humanitarian Leadership and chairs the UN club at Trinity, also leading the Youth World Peace Forum 2023. Honours in International Baccalaureate and in the first year of Trinity College.

Paula Barrondo

Student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the Madrid Institute of Technology

Paula Barrondo Rubio is a 19-year-old student majoring in Biomedical Engineering at the Madrid Institute of Technology, who combines academic achievements with social commitment. She received an Outstanding Scholarship for his bachelor’s degree at SEK Ciudalcampo International College in Madrid. She speaks three languages and has studied in Ireland and Germany. With four years of debating experience, she has participated in leagues such as CICAE in Spanish, German, and English. In addition, she also participated in simulations conducted by the United Nations and the European Union to discuss peace and international relations issues.

Aylina de la Mano

Second-year student in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at King's College London.

Her German and Spanish roots enabled her to develop Spanish and German as her mother tongues, and to adopt a unique social perspective, studying elementary school in Germany and high school in Spain. She has participated in diplomatic projects, such as MUNs or leadership projects at American campsites. In addition, she is passionate about academic debates and has participated in and won competitions such as CICAE or Montpellier. She is currently collaborating with Intro University and Providence Row to support those who need help the most

Bruno Sau

Student of ESADE

Bruno Sau is a student of ESADE, who graduated with honors from La Miranda and received the Academic Excellence Award. He is pursuing his second year of study on global governance, economy, and legal order, while also specializing in politics. He is a member of the United Nations Association UNSA in Barcelona and serves as the President of the ESADE United Nations Demonstration Association. He can speak 5 languages fluently and is currently learning 2 more. Bruno participated in many national and international academic debate championships, led his team, and participated in MUNS.

Guillermo Alejo

Student majoring in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Imperial College London

Guillermo Alejo is a student majoring in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering at Imperial College London. He began to be a part of the debiting world at the age of 15, where, among other competitions, he won the championship of the largest school debating CICAE in Europe. In addition, he also participated in various United Nations models such as CambridgeMUN or SYMUN and was appointed best delegate. He was selected as a member of the first team to represent Spain in the World School Debate Championships. He currently holds an honorary degree in his career and is the President of the United Nations Imperial Society.

Lucia Boned

Student at Navarra University

Lucia Boned is a student at Navarra University, where she studies journalism to obtain a diploma in international journalism. As a passionate reader and writer, she participated in writing competitions such as the Cambridge Immersion Essay Competition, in which she won a partial scholarship. She served as a photographer for the United Nations modeling event and also as an illustrator for a storybook called “Accounts”. Participated in different projects as a volunteer, From the monitors of vulnerable children’s summer villas to social restaurants.

Nicolau Sanmillán

ESADE European Excellence Award for his studies in business management and business artificial intelligence

Nicolau received the ESADE European Excellence Award for his studies in business management and business artificial intelligence. He began debating at the age of 14, accumulating 5 years of experience and receiving 4 awards for Best Speaker in pre-university debating. He is a finalist for CICAE, leads an educational non-governmental organization, and created an eyewear startup (VC101 investment paper winner). He represented Spain in the European Youth Parliament. In university, he stood out as the best student in the fields of business and artificial intelligence with 9 honorary degrees, and he won the ESG Investment Challenge, leading the Student Association.

Nicolás Maggi Berrueta

Awarded the Luxemburg Peace Prize in 2022 for his social and humanitarian work.

Awarded the Luxemburg Peace Prize in 2022 for his social and humanitarian work. At his young age Nicolás Maggi founded in his native town (Uruguay) the Miguel de Cervantes Conservatory, dedicated to teaching music to the young people of the town. He is also very active in the culture of peace, participating in different congresses and being part of the group Living Peace International. Ambassador of Peace (CUAP, France-Switzerland).
