He is a Spanish historian and Honorary Professor of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of the UAB (Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona). Professor of Contemporary History, he has published numerous works including El franquismo y la transición democrática, La historia en el 90, El último Cambó, Reportajes de Historia, among others. He was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi in 2017 by the Generalitat de Catalunya. He is currently president of the Reial Acadèmia de les Bones Lletres de Barcelona.
